Just one more week left to what was quite possibly the worst quarter I have ever experienced at this school. It was hella tough, and I probably wouldn't have made it through without the support of my amazing friends. I don't express this very often because I always feel so goofy when I do, but to my friends (you know who you are), thank you so much. I absolutely love you guys to death and honestly I don't know where I would be without you all. <3
Gonna beat this last week to the ground and have a great three weeks of break afterward, during which I'm going to focus on cleaning up my animations for port 3!
Tomorrow's gonna be spent animating and making up the remaining 9 hours for my externship class...but until then, I'm going to give myself a much needed break; I'm purely exhausted and sorta numb (I guess the "dazed" mood will work for expressing this). It's the least I could do after ~180 hours of animation over the past several weeks, right?

Still lurking, still drawing, though not nearly as often. I do not get the joy out of it that I used to. However, I am pushing myself to create more stuff lately-I have even discovered a burning love for embroidery-and in the spirit of creation I need to dust off Toon Boom and animate something again; it has been years. I miss it. I have things I would like to throw together😊 I'unno if there's anyone still actively viewing this corpse of an account (I do not blame you if not) and I know I keep putting out journals about posting and never following through. It's embarrassing. I am sorry. I'd really like to reclaim the love of the very process of drawing and aimless creating without giving a hoot about chasing down and maintaining an exhausting career in marketing myself as a commodity worth investing money into. I sincerely do not have even half the energy I used to 5 years ago to dedicate to that rat race (tysm, cursed-ass autoimmune disease😒). That said, I don't think it's

Alright! Now that I have settled down more or less, I believe it's time for some insights into what's been going on with me. Starting roughly two years ago I started losing feeling in various areas around my body, my feet started burning from neuropathy, and over the next few months I started getting progressively weaker and weaker, more and more exhausted. It got to the point where I was too weak to pick myself up off the floor, I could not even hold a 5lb bag of coffee out at arm's length. The rapid muscle atrophy left me struggling to even turn over in bed. Going up one level of stairs would leave me needing to lay down to recover my energy. My balance and memory were heavily affected, and various muscles over my body would start cramping and seizing up just trying to do even the most menial tasks. I stopped drawing pretty much all together. Cue trying to get many neurology visits over the first year of the pandemic ...yeah went about as hassle-free as you'd expect. Finally about a year and a half ago, I was diagnosed with a neuromuscular disease called Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy (or just CIDP for short because nobody has the time to say all of that lmao). It essentially is an autoimmune disease that causes my body to attack the myelin sheath of my nerve axons. Like removing the protective rubber covering of wires. It is in the same vein as MS; though not deadly if left untreated, it will still leave me completely disabled without treatment. The treatment itself is once-a-month infusion of human immunoglobulin, which I have been doing for over a year now. I have regained a good portion of my strength back, though I will probably never completely be at 100% again. I am on a fuck ton of gabapentin for the burning in my feet. There is nothing to be done about the excessive muscle cramping that I know of though. This has all been a financial nightmare but I will save that for another journal; this one has gone on long enough lol. Tldr; I have been having a bad time with this disease but it's getting better. Long story short, my student loans have me drowning in so much debt that I cannot afford to eat much more than once a day and I no matter how much I work, it is just not enough and I don't know what to do anymore.
